BACKGROUND:

 

On February 21, 2023, Plaintiffs Orlando Baniaga and Ronie Soriano Rivera filed their Complaint against Defendants Kia America, Inc. and Kia Downtown Los Angeles on causes of action for violations of the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.

 

On April 25, 2023, Defendants filed their Answer to the Complaint.

 

On May 3, 2023, Defendants filed their Amended Answer.

 

On January 18, 2024, Plaintiffs filed: (1) Motion to Compel Further Responses to Form Interrogatories; and (2) Motion to Compel Further Responses to Special Interrogatories. Plaintiffs concurrently filed supporting documentation and proposed orders.

 

On February 2, 2024, Defendant Kia America, Inc. filed its respective oppositions to the motions. Defendant Kia America, Inc. concurrently filed supporting documentation.

 

On February 9, 2024, Plaintiffs filed their respective replies in support of the motions.

 

No informal discovery conference has been held on the motions.

 

ANALYSIS:

 

I.          Discussion

 

This Court’s Trial Orders require that Counsel attend an informal discovery conference before any discovery motion will be heard in a Lemon Law case. (See Court’s Trial Orders, § VIII.) That has not occurred regarding these motions.

 

The Court takes these motions off calendar because Counsel have not participated in an informal discovery conference.
