INSTRUCTIONS: If the parties wish to submit on the tentative ruling and avoid a court appearance on the matter, the moving party must:

[TENTATIVE] ORDER CONTINUING THE HEARING ON PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME

            The court previously heard this matter on June 30, 2022, to permit Petitioner to serve the other parent with the Order to Show Cause and to comply with requirements for publication of the OSC.  On July 20, 2022, Petitioner, Aiilani Alani Maglaqui Delos Santos, filed an Amended Petition for Change of Name to Aiila Alani Delos Santos Guevara. Petitioner is under 18. While Petitioner obtained consent by only one parent, Petitioner personally served the other parent as previously ordered by the court. See proof of service filed 7/20/22. However, the court’s docket does not reflect that Petitioner complied with the requirements for publication of the Order to Show Cause. Code Civ. Proc., § 1277.

            Accordingly, the court continues the hearing to __________________________ at 8:30 a.m. in Department A of the Compton courthouse to permit Petitioner to complete publication requirements.
