Tuesday, August 23, 2022, 8:30 a.m.

[TENTATIVE] ORDER CONTINUING HEARING ON PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME

            The court has considered the Petition filed on May 20, 2022 by Nathalie Gonzalez to change name to Nathalie Briseño in order to assume her mother’s last name. The Criminal History Assessment could not be completed because Petitioner did not provide a driver’s license number. The court’s file reflects that Petitioner complied with the requirements for publication. Code Civ. Proc., § 1277. However, the court’s file does not reflect that Petitioner re-submitted the Criminal History Assessment with a state identification number to the Probation Department. Petitioner must provide the Department with some form of identification verified by a fingerprint to enable the Department to run an assessment. Petitioner may do this by any of the following methods:

(1)   Provide a California driver license number or California ID Number (Petitioner may apply for and obtain a new California driver’s license and provide such information to the Department);

(2)   Provide a driver’s license number issued from another state and identify the state that issued the identification; or

(3)   Contact the Probation Department at (213) 974-5821 and request the Name Change Probation Officer, who can provide instructions on how Petitioner may have fingerprints taken for a LIVESCAN and to have results sent to the Department.

            Therefore, the court continues the hearing to ____________________ at 8:30 a.m. in Department A of the Compton courthouse. Petitioner shall comply with the foregoing to facilitate completion of the Criminal History Assessment.
