[TENTATIVE] ORDER CONTINUING THE HEARING ON PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME

Petitioner, ANTHONY OWENS, filed this Petition on July 28, 2022, for an Order for Change of Name to ANTHONY PLEASANT to assume his mother’s birth name.  Petitioner is over the age of 18. The court has considered the Criminal History Assessment filed on September 30, 2022, which does not reflect any substantial reason for denying the petition.

However, the court’s file does not reflect that Petitioner has complied with the requirements for publication of the Order to Show Cause. Code Civ. Proc., § 1277. Accordingly, the court continues the hearing to November 17, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. in Department A of the Compton Courthouse to permit Petitioner to publish the Order to Show Cause prior to the continued hearing date as set forth in the Order to Show Cause (Form NC-120) signed by the court.
