[TENTATIVE] ORDER CONTINUING THE HEARING ON PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME

Petitioner, DOMINIQUE JASMINE JOLLY, filed this Petition on July 29, 2022, for an Order for Change of Name to JASMINE DOMINIQUE JOLLY to as Petitioner is “under a protection order” and is the victim of “severe identity theft”.  Petitioner is over the age of 18. The court has considered the Criminal History Assessment filed on September 30, 2022, which reveals no criminal record.

However, the court’s file does not reflect that Petitioner has complied with the requirements for publication of the Order to Show Cause. Code Civ. Proc., § 1277 subd. (a)(2)(A). Nor has Petitioner established she is exempt from publication by demonstrating that she is an active participant in the address confidentiality program pursuant to Gov Code § 6205, as a victim of domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault. Code Civ. Proc., § 1277, subd. (b)(2).

 Accordingly, the court continues the hearing to December 6, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. in Department A of the Compton Courthouse to permit Petitioner to publish the Order to Show Cause.
