[TENTATIVE] ORDER CONTINUING THE HEARING ON PETITIONS FOR CHANGE OF NAME

            The court has previously considered the Petition filed on September 12, 2022 by Marisela Gamino, mother, on behalf of her children Jeshua Emanuel Arellano, and Shaul Elias Arrellano. Petitioners seek an order to remove their father’s last name and replace it with their mother’s last name (Gamino). Petitioners state that they travel a lot to Mexico where their father lives and do not want any “trouble” with him. Mother has full custody of the children.

            The court’s file does not reflect that Petitioners complied with the courts order of November 22, 2022 to correct the defects with respect to obtaining consent of the other parent or serving the other parent with the Order to Show Cause. Nor have Petitioners complied with the requirements for publication of the Order to Show Cause. Code Civ. Proc., § 1277.

Therefore, the hearing is continued to February 14, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. in Department A of the Compton courthouse to permit Petitioners to resolve the issues specifically identified in the November 22, 2022 order.
