[TENTATIVE] ORDER CONTINUING THE HEARING ON PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME

Liliana J. Aguirre, on behalf of Petitioners, Hector Aguirre & Valeria Lizeth Aguirre, filed these Petitions on October 31, 2022, for an Order for Change of Name to add the surname of their father “Perez,” to their names.  While Petitioners have disclosed the name and address of their father, he has not signed the petition. As Petitioners are minors, both parents, who live at the same address, must sign the petitions. Code Civ. Proc., § 1276 subd. (c). Accordingly, the parents are ordered to re-submit the petitions with both parents’ signatures.

Additionally, the court’s file does not reflect that Petitioners have complied with the requirements for publication of the Order to Show Cause. Code Civ. Proc., § 1277. Accordingly, the court continues the hearing to February 16, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. in Department A of the Compton Courthouse. Petitioners are ordered to comply with the requirements for publication of the Order to Show Cause and have both parents sign the petitions.
