[TENTATIVE] ORDER CONTINUING THE HEARING ON PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME

Petitioner, Caleb Yoomin Kim, by and through his parents, Narabora Moon and John Han Kim, filed this Petition on June 15, 2023, for an Order to change the minor’s name to Caleb Gunny Kim because the Petitioner’s present middle name is inappropriate when translated.  Both parents have signed the petition. As Petitioner is a minor, a Criminal History Assessment is not required.

However, the court’s file does not reflect that Petitioner has complied with the requirements for publication of the Order to Show Cause. Code Civ. Proc., § 1277. Accordingly, the court continues the hearing to October 9, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. in Department A of the Compton Courthouse. Petitioner is ordered to comply with publication requirements prior to the date of the hearing.
