[TENTATIVE] ORDER CONTINUING THE HEARING ON PETITION FOR CHANGE OF NAME

Petitioner, Maria del Carmen Romo Duardo, request a change of name to Carmen Romo Gallagher to shorten her name and add her husband’s name.  Petitioner is over the age of 18. The court has considered the Criminal History Assessment which reveals no criminal record.

The court’s previously continued this hearing from October 24, 2023 as there was no evidence that Petitioner complied with the requirements for publication of the Order to Show Cause. Code Civ. Proc., § 1277. Proof of publication has not been filed since that date. Accordingly, the court continues the hearing to January 19, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. in Department A of the Compton Courthouse. Petitioner is ordered to comply with publication requirements prior to the date of the hearing.
