Pending before the Court is the Defendants' motion to quash the Plaintiff's deposition subpoena for the production of business records to nonparty Courtney Abrams, or, in the alternative, for a protective order limiting the scope of the subpoena.  The basis of the motion is that the  subpoena seeks confidential documents related to a settlement that the Defendants entered into with nonparty Josef Overal following a mediation.

Having considered the parties' briefs, the Court has concluded that the Defendants have the better of the argument on whether their interests in maintaining the confidentiality of the Overal settlement outweigh Plaintiff's interest in obtaining the settlement documents.  The Court is granting the Defendants' alternative request for relief and entering a protective order that excludes from the scope of the subpoena to Abrams categories 13 and 14.
