Plaintiff Mari Haroutunian sued Defendant Rone Alahverdian.  Haroutunian's suit arises from her lease of rental property from Alahverdian.  Her complaint asserts five causes of action for (1) breach of contract; (2) negligence; (3) violation of Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 151.30; (4) negligent misrepresentation; and (5) violation of a tenant harassment ordinance.   On the Court's calendar for September 16 ,2024 is a demurrer that Alahverdian filed.  However, the "statement of the demurrer," which is essentially the notice of what the demurrer is about, is defective.  It says that the demurrer is brought not by Alahverdian, but rather, by three entities, 4410 Sepulveda LLC, 3 McIntire Real Estate, Inc, and Moss Management Services, Inc., that are not parties to this action.  It says that the demurrer is directed at a "second amended complaint" filed by "plaintiffs," plural, not the initial complaint of the single plaintiff in this action, Haroutunian.  And it targets multiple causes of action in that second amended complaint of some other plaintiffs that are not any of the causes of action in Haroutunian's complaint.   In short, the statement of the demurrer has no bearing on this case.  Given the defects in the statement of the demurrer,  the Court did not consider the ensuing, accompanying memorandum that does appear to bear on this case.
