Plaintiffs Jaime Carlos and Karina Brasher's Motion to Compel Further Responses to Requests for Production of Documents, Set One is GRANTED as described below.
The scope of discovery is broader than those documents that pertain solely to Plaintiff's vehicle. Further responses to the RFPs are ordered to the degree they concern either the subject vehicle or vehicles purchased in California of the same year, make, and model as the subject vehicle. In other words, when responding Defendant may limit its responses only to 2022 Chevrolet Camaros and not Chevrolet vehicles more generally.
Additionally, documents reflecting policies and procedures used to evaluate Plaintiff's claims and similar claims are within the scope of discovery.
Defendant is ordered to produce documents within 20 days. If Defendant withholds documents on the basis of privilege, a privilege log must be produced. Any personally identifiable information in the discovery may be redacted. The parties are directed to stipulate to a protective order as Defendant has indicated is necessary.
