The Court excuses the personal appearance of Claimant and the guardian ad litem. Counsel may appear by telephone or video conference call.¿¿ 

Plaintiff, Lorena Casillas-Fernandez (“Petitioner”), and Emiliano Cordova Casillas (“Claimant”), a minor by and through his Guardian Ad Litem, Lorena Casillas-Fernandez, filed this action against Defendants Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc. and Matthew Kohen for damages arising from a motor vehicle accident.  Claimant was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the accident.  Claimant was diagnosed with no injury and has not suffered any effects from the collision. 

The parties have agreed to settle all claims with Defendants for the total amount of $1,850,000, with $1,849,000 being apportioned to Petitioner and $1,000 being apportioned to Claimant.  Pertaining to Claimant, if the settlement is approved, $111.40 will be used for medical expenses.  The net balance of $888.60 will be deposited into a blocked account.   

The Court has reviewed the Petition to Approve Compromise of Pending Action of a Minor Emiliano Cordova Casillas, Age 6. The Court finds the settlement is reasonable and based thereon approves and GRANTS the petition. 

THE COURT SETS AN OSC RE PROOF OF DEPOSIT ON ____________________ [120 days] IN DEPARTMENT SS-31 AT 8:30 AM. No appearance required if receipt is filed in advance.
