The Court excuses the personal appearance of Claimant and the guardian ad litem. Counsel may appear by telephone or video conference call.¿
Plaintiffs have agreed to settle their claims against Defendant for the total amount of $74,500, with $3,000 being apportioned to Jewel Brewster (“Claimant”). If the settlement is approved, $900 will be used for attorneys’ fees. The net balance of $2,100 will be delivered to Andrew Jones, the parent of Claimant.
The Court reviews the settlement and finds it fair and reasonable.¿The Court also finds the attorney’s fees fair and reasonable, in that it amounts to 30% of Claimant’s settlement.
However, the Court notes the attorney declaration in support of attorney’s fees is unsigned. Based on the foregoing, the petition is CONDITIONALLY GRANTED upon counsel filing the signed declaration.
Moving party is ordered to give notice.
