[TENTATIVE] ORDER DENYING WITHOUT PREJUDICE PETITION TO APPROVE COMPROMISE OF MINOR

Plaintiffs Natalie Carreon (“Claimant”), a minor by and through her guardian ad litem, Laura Solis (“Petitioner”), filed this action against Defendant Haochen Huang (“Defendant”) for damages arising from a motor vehicle accident.

On April 25, 2023, Petitioner filed the instant Petition for Approval of Compromise of Claim or Action pertaining to Claimant, setting it for hearing on May 1, 2023. This was only six days before the hearing. A petition to approve a minor’s compromise requires at least 15 days’ notice prior to the hearing. (Prob. Code §§ 1460, 2506.)

Therefore, the petition is denied without prejudice at this time. Petitioner must comply with all filing and notice requirements when re-filing the petition. An oral request to continue the hearing on the instant petition will not be entertained.

Petitioner is ordered to give notice.
