The Court excuses the personal appearance of Claimant and the guardian ad litem. Counsel may appear by telephone or video conference call.¿¿
The Court has reviewed the Petition to Approve Compromise of Pending Action of James Gauthier (“Claimant”), Age 13. The Court finds the settlement is reasonable and based thereon does approve and GRANTS the petition.
Plaintiffs have agreed to settle their claims for the total amount of $305,000, in which $30,000 is to be apportioned to Claimant. If the settlement is approved, $6,571.14 will be used for medical expenses and $7,500 for attorneys’ fees. The net balance of $15,928.86 will be deposited into a blocked account.
The Court has reviewed the settlement and finds it fair and reasonable. The Court also finds the attorneys’ fees fair and reasonable, in that it amounts to 25% of Claimant’s settlement.
