SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
FOR THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES - CENTRAL DISTRICT
SHAHNAZ FOROUTANZAD LEVYIM, Plaintiff(s), vs.
99 CENTS ONLY STORES, ET AL.,
Defendant(s). | ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) | CASE NO: 22STCV00833
[TENTATIVE] ORDER RE: MOTIONS TO COMPEL FURTHER
Dept. 31 1:30 p.m. December 11, 2023 |
Defendants 99 Cents Only Stores (“Defendant”) filed its motions to compel Plaintiff Shahnaz Foroutanzad Levyim (“Plaintiff”) to respond further to its propounded discovery.
On November 13, 2023, the parties participated in an Informal Discovery Conference (IDC), wherein the motions would go off calendar if the Court did not hear anything from the parties by December 1, 2023, and any joint filing re: any outstanding issues must be filed by December 5, 2023. (Min. Order, Nov. 13, 2023.)
On December 5, Defendant filed a Status Report in lieu of a joint statement, averring that Plaintiff’s second further responses to Defendant’s request for production of documents (“RPD”), set two, fails to state the good faith efforts done to obtain documents and that Plaintiff failed to provide any documents to RPD requests No. 20 and No. 21.
In light of Defendant’s Status Report and the discussion previously held at IDC, the Court would like to discuss this matter with the parties. Counsel for both parties are ordered to appear at the hearing (the appearances may be remote), and be ready to discuss the aforementioned issues.
Moving party is ordered to give notice.
