The court notes both applicants, Thomas Stewart and Jay Paul Deratany, have appeared in two matters as counsel pro hac vice before the state and federal courts in California in the last year (April 26, 2022 and December 13, 2022). Three such admissions does not yet qualify as “repeated appearances . . . .” (Cal. Rules of Court, Rule 9.40, subd. (b).)

The court finds both applicants have meet the requirements for admission as counsel pro hac vice in this matter.

Therefore, the applications are granted.
