Judge: Nathan R. Scott, Case: Patel v. Amthabhai, Date: 2023-05-19 Tentative Ruling

Plaintiffs Dinesh Patel and Alka Patel’s motion to compel is granted. 

Defendant Smita Amthabhai shall submit to a deposition on 10 days’ notice at the offices of plaintiffs’ counsel.  The parties may agree in writing to change the date or location.

No sanctions are imposed.  Defense counsel had a unavoidable conflict.  (See Sattro decl. ¶¶ 21-24.)

If the parties need help with coordinating discovery and scheduling depositions, the court encourages them to consider the court’s Civil Mediation Program, which will work with them for 2 hours for $300.  Information is posted on the court’s website.

This is the order of the court.  Plaintiffs shall give notice.
