Pro Hac Vice Application

Richard Cassetta’s application to appear pro hac vice as counsel for defendant Lasko Products LLC is granted.

Motion for Preference

Plaintiffs Sonia Valentin Barrios and Amelia Valentin’s motion for preference is granted.  (See Code Civ. Proc., § 36, subds. (a), (f).)

At the parties’ stipulation (see Opp. at p. 1), an 8-day jury trial is for Fri. 11/17/23 at 11:30 am in Dept. W2 – trial call only; trial days are Mon., Tue., and Wed.  Any outstanding jury fees are due within 5 days of this order. 

The court encourages the parties to mediate this case.  The court’s Civil Mediation Program is one good option; information is posted on the court’s website.  If the parties do not mediate yet answer ready for trial, they should expect to attend a mandatory settlement conference before trial commences.

All parties are ordered to comply with the department pretrial order, which is available on the department website.

Plaintiffs shall give notice of all rulings.
