MOTION TO COMPEL RESPONSES TO
INTERROGATORIES FROM DEFENDANT DOWDLEY
Plaintiff Anchor General
Insurance Company (“Plaintiff”) moves the court for an order (1) compelling
defendant Reginald Dowdley (“Dowdley”) to provide responses to Plaintiff’s Form
Interrogatories, Set One, and (2) awarding sanctions in favor of Plaintiff and
against Dowdley in the amount of $720.
If a party to whom
interrogatories are directed fails to serve a timely response, the propounding
party may move for an order compelling response to the interrogatories.¿ (Code
Civ. Proc., § 2030.290, subd. (b).)¿¿
Plaintiff served Dowdley with
its Form Interrogatories, Set One, on January 5, 2022. (Solis Decl., ¶ 3; Solis Decl., Ex. A.) Dowdley had not served responses as of the date
that Plaintiff filed this motion. (Solis
Decl., ¶ 4.) Dowdley has not filed an
opposition or other papers with the court showing that responses have been
served. The court therefore grants
Plaintiff’s motion. (Code Civ. Proc., §
2030.290, subd. (b).)
The court grants Plaintiff’s
request for monetary sanctions against Dowdley.
(Code Civ. Proc., § 2030.290, subd. (c).) The court finds that $720 (4 hours x $165
hourly rate + $60 filing fee) is a reasonable amount of sanctions to impose
against Dowdley in connection with this motion.
(Solis Decl., ¶¶ 6-7.)
MOTION TO COMPEL RESPONSES TO
INTERROGATORIES FROM DEFENDANT KING
Plaintiff moves the court for
an order (1) compelling defendant Quincy Lee King (“King”) to provide responses
to Plaintiff’s Form Interrogatories, Set One, and (2) awarding sanctions in
favor of Plaintiff and against King in the amount of $720.
If a party to whom
interrogatories are directed fails to serve a timely response, the propounding
party may move for an order compelling response to the interrogatories.¿ (Code
Civ. Proc., § 2030.290, subd. (b).)¿¿
Plaintiff served King with its
Form Interrogatories, Set One, on January 5, 2022. (Solis Decl., ¶ 3; Solis Decl., Ex. A.) King did not serve responses to Plaintiff’s
Form Interrogatories. (Solis Decl.,
¶ 4.) King has not filed an
opposition or other papers with the court establishing that responses have been
served. The court therefore grants
Plaintiff’s motion. (Code Civ. Proc., §
2030.290, subd. (b).)
The court grants Plaintiff’s
request for monetary sanctions against King.
(Code Civ. Proc., § 2030.290, subd. (c).) The court finds that $720 (4 hours x $165
