Attorneys Elijah M. Watkins and Andrea S. Carone's unopposed Applications to Be Admitted as Counsel Pro Hac Vice for Defendant Intel Corporation are CONTINUED to August 25, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. (ROA 50, 54.) First, although both applications are labeled as 'verified,' no Code-compliant affidavit or declaration was provided. (Code Civ. Proc. § 2015.5.) Both attorneys are requested to note, in particular, that if an affidavit or declaration is executed outside of California, the verification must be signed under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of California. (Ibid.) Second, counsel did not submit evidence that the State Bar of California has been served with a copy of the applications, as required. (Cal. R. Court, rule 9.40(e).) Accordingly, hearing on both applications is continued to allow time for compliance. Attorneys Watkins and Carone may file and serve amended applications and proof of service on or before August 18, 2023. Counsel are requested to submit courtesy copies of their papers to Department 65 as well.
