Petitioner Jonathan Mata Alarcon’s Petition for Approval of Compromise of Claim or Action or Disposition of Proceeds of Judgment for Plaintiff Alexander Mata Gonzalez, a Minor, is GRANTED and attorney fees are reduced to $2,500.00.

BACKGROUND

This is a personal injury action arising from a motor vehicle collision. On July 7, 2023, Plaintiffs Alexander Mata Gonzalez and Abigail Mata Gonzalez, by and through guardian ad litem Jonathan Mata Alarcon, and Guadalupe Gonzalez Reyes filed a complaint against Defendants Maria M. Benitez, Santosa Delivery LLC (Santosa LLC), Santosa Delivery Inc (Santosa Inc), GELCO Fleet Trust, (GELCO Fleet), Element Fleet Corporation (Element Fleet), GELCO Corporation (GELCO), and Does 1-50, alleging (1) motor vehicle negligence and (2) general negligence.

On January 16, 2024, Plaintiffs dismissed Santosa LLC.

On September 25, 2024, Plaintiffs filed a notice of conditional settlement.

On January 24, 2025, Mata Alarcon filed the present petitions under seal. A hearing on the present petitions is set for March 3, 2025, along with an OSC Re: Dismissal.

ANALYSIS

Mata Alarcon petitions for the court’s approval of a settlement reached between one of the Defendants and Alexander and Abigail Mata Gonzalez. The court GRANTS both petitions while reducing the requested attorney fees to $2,500 for each plaintiff.
