TENTATIVE 

The Court excuses the personal appearance of the claimant and the guardian ad litem. Counsel may appear by telephone or video conference call.  

The Court has reviewed the Petitions to Approve Compromise of Disputed Claim of Minors (Natalia Recinos, age 15; and Fernanda Romero, age 14). The Court finds the settlements are reasonable. However, there are various issues precluding the granting of the two petitions at this time.

(1)  As to Fernanda’s petition, counsel changed the amount of costs under item 13 of the petition to $599.60, but has not updated the new amount for costs under item 16 of the petition and the proposed orders. As such, the settlement figures currently listed are all incorrect, and a corrected proposed order and a corrected blocked order must be filed. The correct disbursement for Fernanda is as follows:

(2)   As to Fernanda’s petition, a copy of the reduction agreements for medical expenses from Paratus LLC – Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, and Expert Care Health Group is required to be filed.

(3)  As to Natalia’s petition, counsel changed the amount of costs under item 13 of the petition to $641.78, but has not updated the new amount for costs under item 16 of the petition and the proposed orders. As such, the settlement figures currently listed are all incorrect, and a corrected proposed order and a corrected blocked order must be filed. The correct disbursement for Natalia is as follows:

(4)  As to Natalia’s petition attachment, copy of the reduction agreements for medical expenses from Paratus LLC – Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Expert Care Health Group, ProHealth Advanced Imaging, and Downtown Live Chiro is required to be filed.

Accordingly, the Petitions to Approve Compromise of Disputed Claim of Minors (Natalia Recinos, age 15; and Fernanda Romero, age 14) are CONTINUED to May 11, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. Counsel is ordered to file corrected proposed orders and corrected blocked orders for both Claimants, in accordance with the distribution provided above, and file supplemental documents with the reduction agreements for medical expenses for both Claimants.
