TENTATIVE RULING

The motion for approval of settlement is granted in part.  The court will approve of the settlement with adjustment of the attorney fees to 1/3 instead of 40%.  This case did not go through discovery, no depositions were taken, and the only court hearings were a CMC and the instant motion for settlement approval.  The hourly rate of $625 is generally much higher than the hourly rate for comparable work in similar cases.  The court finds that a fair and reasonable attorney fee amount would be 1/3.  Otherwise, the court approves the modified settlement agreement and sets a CMC on ____________, 2023 for a final report on distribution of the funds.
