RULING

The Hearing on Motion to Compel Arbitration is CONTINUED to  February 08, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. Department 19 of the Stanley Mosk Courthouse.

The Court requests additional briefing on the issue of whether the provision in the arbitration agreement at issue regarding the applicability of the FAA  (seeMinter Decl. at ¶ 8, Ex. A at ¶ 7), or lack of applicability, as to Defendant's involvement in interstate commerce, and the duties of Plaintiff and his employment, is sufficient for the Federal Arbitration Act to apply.
 
Defendant's  supplemental briefing, limited to three (3) pages, must be filed and e-served by January 31, 2024;

Plaintiff’s supplemental briefing, limited to three (3) pages, must be filed and e-served by February 5, 2024.

No supplemental reply briefing will be permitted, but the Court will hear oral argument at the hearing.
