On January 2, 2022, a hot bowl of soup was spilled onto the arm of minor plaintiff Logan Lee while on the premises of defendant Pho So 1 Granada Hills, Inc. On February 3, 2023, Plaintiff filed a complaint for premises liability and negligence.

RULING: Granted.

Plaintiff entered into a settlement with defendant for a total of $105,000. Negotiated medical lien expenses total $12,625, and counsel lists costs of $672.88. Counsel seeks to collect $35,000 in attorney fees (one-third). The remaining balance of $56,509.34 ($105,000 minus $48,490.66) will be placed into an annuity with Metropolitan Tow Life Insurance Company with disbursement scheduled for Plaintiff’s 18^th birthday for a total of $66,010.04.

The court finds the fees and costs reasonable.

The motion is granted.
