detainer against defendant Enrique Martinez arising from the breach of a five
year lease at a rent of $9,800/month. Plaintiff alleges delinquency of $39,200
as of October 31, 2023.

court overruled the demurrer of Defendant on December 15, 2023. Defendant, in
pro per, answered the complaint on December 18, 2023.
RULING: Granted.
Plaintiff
United Broadway Real Estate Company, LLC moves to compel responses to Request
for Production of Documents (set one) served on defendant Enrique Martinez.
Defendant represents service of the requests for production
on December 29, 2023. [Declaration of Scott Spinrad, ¶ 3 & Ex. 1-2.]
According to Defendant, at the time of the filing of the motion, no responses
were received. [Id., ¶ 4.]
The motion is unopposed. The court electronic filing system
shows no reply filed at the time of the tentative ruling publication cutoff. The
unopposed motion is granted. Defendant Enrique Martinez is ordered to serve
responses within three (3) days of this order. (Code Civ. Proc., § 2031.290,
subd. (a-b).) Sanctions in the amount of $1,000 imposed against defendant
Martinez, and payable within 30 days. (Code Civ. Proc., § 2023.050, subd.
(a)(1), 2031.290, subd. (c).)
