SUMMARY OF ACTION

On November 15, 2024, Plaintiffs Miquana Pitts filed a habitability complaint.

 

RULING: Granted.

Plaintiff Miquana Pitts submits four (4) petitions for approval for minors compromises on behalf of five year old Ma’Kaiden Jennings, five year old Ma’Quel Jennings, seven (7) year old Ma’Khi Jennings, and nine (9) year old Ma’Siah Jennings. The petitions were specially set for hearing via a December 18, 2025, ex parte order. Plaintiffs served notice of the order on December 26, 2024. The court consolidate the petitions into a single order given relationship of Miquana Pitts will all minors and the similarity of relief.

 

Each petition indicates a settlement of $2,500 per minor. The entire case is represented as settling for $100,000 with $10,000 going to the four minors and $90,000 to Miquana Pitts. None of the petitions indicate any withholding of attorney fees or costs from the minors’ settlements.

 

The court approves all four (4) unopposed petitions.

 

Each individual $2,500 payment may be paid directly to Miquana Pitts. (Probate Code § 3611, subd. (e).)
