Expedited Petition for Approval of Minor’s Compromise as to Claimant Nailah M. Maldonado (Age 8).

The Court excuses the personal appearance of the claimant and the guardian ad litem. Counsel may appear by telephone or video conference call.  

Petitioner filed an expedited petition on December 16, 2024 for Claimant Nailah M. Maldonado. The Court reviewed the petition and noted several deficiencies. (January 10, 2025 Minute Order.)

Petitioner filed a new expedited petition on February 26, 2025. The Court has reviewed the petition and notes the following deficiencies.

First, Petitioner has omitted all attachments except Attachment 12. The Court cannot approve a partial petition.

Second, Petitioner does not check the box on Item 12b(2), despite Petitioner receiving money under the settlement.

Third, on proposed order filed on MC-351, Petitioner incorrect selects that there is no hearing held, when in fact, a hearing was scheduled for March 4.

Fourth, on proposed order filed on MC-355, no hearing information was provided.

Accordingly, the Hearing on Petition to Confirm Minor's Compromise scheduled for 03/04/2025 is CONTINUED to __/__/2025 at 1:30 PM in DEPT. 29 at SPRING STREET COURTHOUSE.
