Expedited Petition for Approval of Minor’s Compromise as to Claimant Marissa Gurrola (Age 17).

Tentative

The Court excuses the personal appearance of the claimant and the guardian ad litem. Counsel may appear by telephone or video conference call.  

Petitioner filed an expedited petition on December 10, 2024 for Claimant Marissa Gurrola. The Court noted several issues that needed to be addressed. (January 10, 2025 Minute Order.)

On February 7, 2025, Petitioner filed a new expedited petition. The Court has reviewed the petition.  With one small exception, noted below, the new petition and supporting papers satisfy all applicable substantive and procedural requirements.  The proposed settlement and requested fees are fair and reasonable.

The one small issue is that on the proposed orders filed on form MC-351 and MC-355, Petitioner fails to include the hearing information on Item 1.

Accordingly, the Court GRANTS the petition.

The Court directs the Judicial Assistant to complete the correct hearing information in Item 1 of the proposed orders MC-351 and MC-355.

The Court sets an OSC re proof of deposit of funds into blocked account.
