Petition for Approval of Minor’s Compromise for Claimant Jane Doe (Age 7).

Tentative:

The Court excuses the personal appearance of the claimant and the guardian ad litem. Counsel may appear by telephone or video conference call.  

Petitioner filed a Petition for Approval of Minor’s Compromise and proposed orders on January 29, 2025. The Court has reviewed the petition and finds one issue that must be addressed.  

Counsel requests a 40% attorney fee, but does not fully address the factors of California Rules of Court, rule 7.995(b). Instead, Counsel provides a list of case where a 40% fee was granted, and addresses factor 7.995(b)(7) only. (See Khedry Decl., ¶ 24.) This attorney declaration is insufficient to support the requested attorney’s fees.

Accordingly, on the Court’s own motion, the hearing re Petition for Approval of Minor’s Compromise for Jane Doe (Age 7) is CONTINUED from 02/25/2025 to __/__/2025 at 01:30 PM in Department 29 at Spring Street Courthouse.
