Petitions for Approval of Minors’ Compromises for Claimants Aaliyah Bella Schaeffer (Age 7) and Violet Imanie Schaeffer (Age 9).

Tentative 

The Court excuses the personal appearance of the claimant and the guardian ad litem. Counsel may appear by telephone or video conference call.   

The Court has reviewed the Petitions for Approval of Minors’ Compromises filed on April 30, 2025.  The petitions are denied without prejudice.  There are a number of issues that must be resolved before the Court can grant the petitions. 

As a threshold matter, no application has yet been filed for Petitioner to be appointed as Guardian Ad Litem for the Claimants.  This must be completed. 

In addition, there are several (relatively minor) issues with the petitions and the proposed orders. 

First, on the petitions and proposed orders, Petition incorrectly identifies the location for the hearing.  The matter is being heard at the Spring Street Courthouse. 

Second, Item 1 on all the proposed orders has been left blank as to the hearing information. This must be completed. 

Third, on the proposed order filed on form MC-351 for Claimant Aaliyah, Item 8a(5) incorrectly lists the total fees as $20,517.50 instead of $20,217.50. 

The petitions are denied without prejudice.
