            Plaintiff Putnam Leasing Company I, LLC (“Plaintiff”) requests that the Court enter default judgment against Defendant Simon Papukyan (“Defendant”). Plaintiff seeks an award of $38,371.03 comprising $26,976.00 demanded in the complaint, $9,684.75 in interest, $511.00 in costs, and $1,199.28 in attorney fees.

On August 25, 2022, the Court issued an Order on Plaintiff’s request for default judgment, indicating, inter alia, that “Plaintiff seeks interest at an annual rate of 18%” and that  

“[t]he Complaint does not appear to plead any exemption from the usury limitations and Plaintiff has not provided an explanation for its entitlement to any exemption.” The Court denied the request for default judgment without prejudice, set a date for submitting a new default judgment package, and set a date for the hearing on the package.  On August 26, 2022, Plaintiff filed a memorandum of points and authorities in support of the request, which provides a satisfactory explanation for Plaintiff’s asserted entitlement to an exemption from the usury limitations.

The Court finds that Plaintiff has sufficiently supported its request with the submitted declarations and evidence. Therefore, Plaintiff’s request is granted, and the Court will sign the judgment. No appearance at the hearing is necessary.
