ORDER
RE: EXPEDITED PETITION TO APPROVE COMPROMISE OF MINOR |
Claimant David Corona (“Claimant”), a
minor, by and through their parent and guardian ad litem, Monic Martinez,
(“Petitioner”), has agreed to release their claims against Defendant Pomona
Unified School District in exchange for $20,000. On October 7, 2022, the Court issued an order
setting a hearing on this petition because it found that the petition failed to
provide any evidence that a guardianship was needed and did not explain why the
money should not be deposited into an insured account or invested in an annuity
instead of being paid directly to the guardian.
The Court also ordered Petitioner to submit a proposed order and an
Attachment 19b(1).
On November 17, 2022, Petitioner
submitted a revised proposed order approving the compromise and a proposed
order to deposit money.
The revised proposed order is incomplete
because Items 7a, 7c(1)(c), 8a, and 8c(2), 9, and 10 are blank.
Accordingly, the hearing on the
Expedited Petition to Approve Minor’s Compromise is CONTINUED to January 17,
2022 at 1:30 p.m.
