On July 18, 2022, Plaintiff Creditors Adjustment Bureau, Inc. (“Plaintiff”) filed this action against defendant Purple Construction, Inc. aka Purple Construction Inc aka Purple Construction (“Defendant”).  Plaintiff’s assignor, State Compensation Insurance Fund (“SCIF”), provided Defendant with two workers compensation insurance policies in exchange for insurance premiums.  Defendant failed to pay those premiums, which are being demanded in this action.  Default was entered against Defendant on September 13, 2022. 

On March 21, 2023, Plaintiff submitted a new proposed judgment (Form JUD-100) and request for court judgment (Form CIV-100) along with a declaration substantiating its request for prejudgment interest after the Court denied its last application on March 9, 2023.  There is a discrepancy among the forms because the amount of interest stated on Form CIV-100 and in the supporting declaration is $6,253.11, whereas the amount on Form JUD-100 is $5,697.78. 

The Court is willing to enter the proposed default judgment on Form JUD-100 as currently submitted.  However, Plaintiff may also request a continuance to provide the Court with a revised proposed judgment so that it is consistent with the larger amount of prejudgment interest sought in Form CIV-100.
