ORDER RE: DEFAULT PROVE-UP HEARING

This is an action to recover unpaid premiums for workers compensation insurance policies.  Plaintiff Creditors Adjustment Bureau, Inc. (“Plaintiff”) requests a default judgment against defendant Eric Honore Antoine aka Eric H Antoine aka Eric Antoine dba Wudwurx (“Defendant”) in the amount of $32,051.68, consisting of $26,734.82 as demanded in the complaint, $3,526.55 in interest, $590 in costs, and $1,200 in attorney fees.  Default was entered against Defendant on November 29, 2022. 

Plaintiff submits a declaration from Luther Jao, the senior collections representative of the State Compensation Insurance Fund (“Fund”), who avers that Defendant owes $26,734.82 in insurance premiums for workers compensation insurance policies issued by the Fund.  The Fund has assigned its claim to Plaintiff, including the right to collect on Defendant’s debt.  Plaintiff also includes a declaration explaining the basis for recovering attorneys fees and a calculation of prejudgment interest. 

Based on the papers on file with the Court, Plaintiff’s application for default judgment is GRANTED.
